The last time we heard from Trick Daddy, he talked about never being invited to one of Diddy’s freak-off parties because he’s a real street guy.

Today, Trick is getting a lot of attention for saying he doesn’t want to be called African-American, despite being Black and born in the United States.

“I ain’t never been to Afro-ca. I have never been to Africa. Never been there,” he said in a video. “I’m not from Africa … I ain’t never been to Africa. Ain’t think about going. I know it’s a beautiful place, and I know it’s the motherland but not my mother, not her mother and not her mother’s mother. That ain’t their land.”

A lot of people tried to give Trick a history lesson on social media, but it’s safe to say the 50-year-old won’t be swayed.

What’s your thoughts on Trick not wanting to be called African-American?
