Diddy asserts that federal attorneys are obstructing his ability to prepare a defense by withholding the identities of the individuals accusing him in the criminal proceedings.
Diddy’s legal representatives submitted fresh documents on Tuesday urging a federal judge to compel the U.S. Attorney’s Office to disclose the identities of the unnamed alleged victims identified in the indictment. This information is critical for him to specifically counter the claims that he “abused, threatened, and coerced” women and others to fulfill his sexual needs.
According to the documents, Diddy claims that once the identities are disclosed, he anticipates “abundant evidence” will demonstrate that his interactions with the alleged victims were consensual. He is requesting that the federal authorities provide clearer details on who is alleging non-consensual behavior.
As previously mentioned, the 14-page indictment only references “Victim 1,” who, according to the claims, appears to be Cassie. Diddy’s legal team has identified “Victim 1” as his former girlfriend.
Diddy’s latest request to the court is not limited to disclosing her identity, but also involves revealing any additional accusers that the federal prosecutors are depending on to establish their case against him.
Additionally, the founder of Bad Boy Records is seeking the disclosure of names due to a flood of civil lawsuits being initiated by attorney Tony Buzbee, who claims to represent 120 clients at present.
Diddy’s legal counsel asserts that the federal case “has produced a widespread ripple effect, leading to a surge of claims by unnamed complainants.” The filed documents specifically highlight that six of Buzbee’s clients initiated lawsuits on Monday.
In light of the “volume and secrecy of the accusers,” Diddy indicated that his legal team requested the federal prosecutors to reveal the identities of the purported victims; however, they declined to do so “at this juncture.”
A representative from the U.S. Attorney’s Office located in the Southern District of New York opted not to provide any comment.

Diddy was apprehended last month during a police operation at the hotel in midtown Manhattan where he was residing. Following this incident, he has been detained in Brooklyn, and the court has twice turned down his request for bail. His trial is anticipated to commence in May 2025, and he remains incarcerated until that time.
