Chief Keef is currently working on a documentary. On Tuesday (October 15), Variety shared the news that Cole Bennett’s Lyrical Lemonade will be directing this highly anticipated project, which remains untitled and doesn’t have a set release date yet.

As reported by the outlet, the film is set to “document Keef’s journey, his time away, and exciting return to his hometown.” Importantly, the artist known for “I Don’t Like” recently graced the stage in Chicago for the first time in over ten years during June’s Summer Smash festival.

Kenya Barris’ Khalabo Ink Society will oversee the documentary’s production, with Jeremy Allen taking on the role of producer. It’s interesting to note that this will be Keef’s second try at a documentary, following his 2017 project with Apple Music, The Story of Sosa: The Movie, which unfortunately never aired.

Earlier this year, Bennett and Keef collaborated on the track “Say Ya Grace” from All Is Yellow, which featured Lil Yachty and was accompanied by a stunning visual.

During the shoot, Bennett shared with Kids Take Over, “He was decked out in this all-camouflage Gallery Dept. outfit. I was like, ‘Bro, can I make a request? I need you in this suit.’ He was like, ‘No way I’m putting on a suit.’ I then suggested, ‘Can you at least wear all black for me? I’ll make it work during editing.’”

“The shoot felt like forever. I thought to myself, ‘He might not even step outside again. Who knows what could happen,’” the director continued, later mentioning how the creator of Almighty So 2 caught him off guard. Bennett noted, “[Peeda] Pan, his manager, was like, ‘You have no idea how unbelievable this is. He never wears suits. The last time we got him a suit was for a red carpet event four years back, but he didn’t attend because he refused to wear it.’”

In other updates, Megan Thee Stallion is set to release her own feature-length documentary, In Her Words, which is expected to premiere on Amazon Prime Video this Halloween (October 31).
