1:31 PM PT — Ozzy Osbourne shared with TMZ … “It has been 37 years since I laid eyes on Jake E. Lee, but hearing about today’s events still shocks me. This is yet another senseless act of gun violence. My thoughts go out to him and his lovely daughter, Jade. I genuinely hope he’ll be alright.”
Jake E. Lee, renowned for his role as Ozzy Osbourne’s guitarist, has been admitted to the hospital following a shooting incident in Las Vegas … TMZ has received the news.
According to the musician’s representative, TMZ reports … Jake sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the early hours of Tuesday while walking his dog in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Currently, Jake is fully aware and recovering positively following the incident … although, he’s situated in an intensive care unit of a hospital in Las Vegas. He is predicted to recuperate completely.
Authorities examining the situation currently believe that Jake was not a target of this violent incident … as they consider the occurrence, around 2:40 AM, to be a “completely random” street shooting. The police are actively probing the matter. No arrests have been reported, as per Las Vegas Metro Police updates.
Jake and his family request privacy as the guitarist recuperates from his wounds.
As you may remember, Jake stepped in as Ozzy’s lead guitarist in ’82 following the unfortunate demise of Randy Rhoads, and he significantly contributed to classic records such as ’83’s “Bark at the Moon” and ’86’s “The Ultimate Sin.”
