Lil Durk is eager for folks to acknowledge his status as The Voice of the streets. His latest snippet shared on social media captures the rap icon in his melodic element as he travels through Europe.
In this fresh track, he asserts, “I’m Smurk, charging 500, I’m releasing my deluxe.” He further delivers lines with, “I’m informing brodie repeatedly, who’s with us and who’s out/ When you’re present, don’t grab your phone, you enjoy FaceTiming all the opponents.”
In this new release, he showcases his flair in front of the iconic Big Ben clock tower prior to the Chicago Bears football match in London. The Grammy-winning artist garnered admiration from talented peers such as G Herbo, Rob49, Central Cee, Lucki, and others on this latest post.
Durk took the opportunity in the track to reflect on those in his inner circle whom he misses, while indicating that he is untroubled by the grudges he holds against those he dislikes. On a brighter note, he exhibited a more charitable side recently when he pledged assistance for the victims of Hurricane Milton in Florida.
Upon learning about the disaster, he posted on his Instagram Story, “My team [at Neighborhood Heroes Foundation] and I want to shed light on the devastating circumstances in the Florida regions. We’re aiming to stay ahead, and we’re organizing to provide water and food for those affected by the hurricane.”
He stands alongside other notable Chicago-origin rappers like G Herbo, Kanye West, Chance The Rapper, Common, among others who have established foundations to benefit youth and strive to alter the narrative around their cherished city.
After hinting at a deluxe edition of his prior album for some time, he has now unveiled the cover artwork for his upcoming album, Deep Thoughts, which is scheduled for release on Oct. 18. The project is expected to feature collaborations with Hunxho and Drake. Durk has been excelling in collaborations lately, leaving fans eagerly anticipating a new full-length project from this renowned artist very soon.
