Tyla graced the stage at the prestigious Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on Tuesday night (October 15) in New York City.
The Grammy-winning sensation shared the spotlight with her favorite models, Jasmine Tookes and fellow South African beauty Candice Swanepoel, delivering live performances of “Water” and “PUSH 2 START.” This was the inaugural live rendition of the latter song after it was incorporated into TYLA+ earlier this month.
“We designed a concept that would resonate with the fashion show, something visually appealing for me to present. It’s very glamorous, and it feels quite distinct from my usual style,” Tyla expressed to Harper’s Bazaar regarding her outfit, which featured a coordinated lingerie set, a garter belt, and the brand’s iconic angel wings. “But I’m absolutely in love with it. It’s a unique experience and truly sophisticated for me.”
Other musical highlights of the evening included performances by Cher and BLACKPINK’s Lisa. Additionally, renowned models such as Gigi Hadid, Tyra Banks, and Paloma Elsesser captivated the runway for this year’s event—the brand’s first show since 2018.
“As a child, I was enchanted by the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show — the breathtaking outfits, legendary wings, and dynamic models,” Tyla reflected in an interview with Rolling Stone prior to her performance. “Now, I’m overjoyed to take the stage at this nostalgic and iconic venue. What makes this occasion even more extraordinary is the emphasis on diversity and inclusivity, showcasing a wider representation of beauty, which truly makes this moment special.”
In addition to “PUSH 2 START,” TYLA+ introduced tracks like “BACK to YOU” and “SHAKE AH,” featuring collaborations with Tony Duardo, Optimist Music ZA, and Ez Maestro. The original album reached No. 24 on the Billboard 200 chart and included beloved tracks such as “On and On,” “Truth or Dare,” and “ART.” Featured artists encompassed Travis Scott, Tems, Gunna, Skillibeng, and Becky G, to name a few.
