In September, Summer Walker hinted at her upcoming third studio album, now revealed to be called Finally Over It. On Friday (October 11), she excitedly shared the lead single, “Heart of a Woman,” along with an engaging teaser video.

In the teaser, Walker is depicted in her bedroom clad in a night robe, listening to a series of voicemails. One message captured the listener’s attention: “Damn, you gon’ do me like that? Hit me back. I was just assisting my cousin with groceries.” This voicemail is a clear reference to her former partner and “BMF” actor Lil Meech’s reaction to being filmed entering a woman’s residence via a Ring camera in 2023.

Another voicemail remarked, “Let me know when you’re available to chat. Call me back.” A third message conveyed, “I understand you’re finally over it, but why not discuss it?” and the last one simply stated, “I love you.” Check out the complete trailer below.

“The question is, why do I engage in these actions?/ The answer I may never uncover, but you are always my choice,” Walker expressed in the accompanying song snippet. “I take the fault for giving you chance after chance/ Infatuated with you, but this is unbearable/ Can I attempt to be resilient? But how much more can I endure?”

Finally Over It will be the first full-length album from the artist since Still Over It. This 2021 release debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, registering an impressive 166,000 album-equivalent units. It also featured tracks like “Ex For A Reason” with JT, “No Love” alongside SZA, and narrative segments from Cardi B and Ciara.

In the meantime, Walker has released two EPs. CLEAR 2: SOFT LIFE, which included collaborations with J. Cole and Childish Gambino, and Girls Need Love (Girls Mix), which commemorated the fifth anniversary of her debut mixtape.
