To commemorate the launch of GLORIOUS on streaming services earlier this month, GloRilla posted a video montage showcasing her recent achievements on Wednesday (Oct. 16). “I want to take [the] moment to express my gratitude for all [the] love and support [you] have shown me,” she wrote on X. “It means the world to me. I truly put my heart, soul, and hard work into this, quite literally.”
The one-minute montage featured clips of her touring with Megan Thee Stallion, glimpses from the MTV Video Music Awards behind-the-scenes, working out at the gym, and being awarded the key to Memphis, Tennessee, among other highlights. One amusing moment showed GloRilla video calling Cardi B to celebrate her 32nd birthday on October 11.
The “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker later shared, “Honestly, I was so tipsy [that] I flashed her.” GloRilla humorously quote-tweeted the post, stating, “[That] was [the] best part of my evening” accompanied by tired face emojis.
Interestingly, Cardi and GloRilla share familial connections — the Memphis rapper is also related to Lil Uzi Vert. During a conversation with Big Boy, the creator of Invasion of Privacy shared, “My grandfather — I prefer to keep my family’s matters private — but he was once involved in the drug trade and had a child in Tennessee without my grandma knowing. That child is GloRilla’s father.”
Moreover, Cardi played a crucial role in helping GloRilla secure her first Top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with the track “Tomorrow 2.” The duo later collaborated on the track “Wanna Be (Remix),” with the original version appearing on Ehhthang Ehhthang.
GLORIOUS, GloRilla’s inaugural studio album, features collaborations from T-Pain, Megan Thee Stallion, Kirk Franklin, Fridayy, Sexyy Red, Latto, BossMan Dlow, and a plethora of other artists.
