Rita Ora is evidently struggling with the absence of Liam Payne … becoming so overwhelmed during her performance last night that she was unable to sing — and actually exited the stage at one juncture.
The musical artist took to the stage in Japan mere hours after the heartbreaking news of Liam’s unexpected passing in Argentina surfaced … performing her well-known track “For You,” a song she created for “Fifty Shades Freed,” which features Liam.
While the melody plays, Rita meanders around the stage, engaging with the crowd and lifting her arms in the air. She’s allowing her fans to take the lead this time — handing them the reins of the performance.
At one moment, Rita takes a seat onstage, expressing that it’s too hard for her to continue singing — and invites the audience to amplify their voices to fill the gap left by her silence.

Rita exits the stage moments before the video concludes. It’s uncertain whether she returned for an encore, or if this marked the end of her performance … yet, it’s evident that Rita was profoundly affected by Liam’s passing.
As we shared previously … Liam tragically passed away at a hotel in Buenos Aires on Wednesday afternoon after a 911 call was placed by hotel staff who indicated he was “overcome by substances” — and they were concerned since they had not accessed his room for several days.
Rita is among numerous celebrities honoring Liam. Individuals including Juicy J, Flavor Flav, and Paris Hilton have expressed their condolences. His absence will undoubtedly be felt deeply.
