The announcement is here: Tyler, The Creator’s eighth studio project is on its way. On Thursday (Oct. 17), the artist behind “Yonkers” unveiled that his upcoming album, CHROMAKOPIA, will drop on Oct. 28.
This anticipated LP has been entirely crafted, produced, and coordinated by Tyler himself and is thought to feature “ST. CHROMA,” which fans got a sneak peek of on Wednesday (Oct. 16). The striking black-and-white video depicted the rapper guiding a group of men into a container marked “CHROMAKOPIA,” which then exploded with all of them inside.
According to Daniel Caesar, who contributed his vocals to the track, there’s much more in store. “I’m so proud,” he posted on Instagram, then continued, “Eager for all of you to experience the complete record.”
Along with the artwork for the album, Tyler also provided a link for pre-saving CHROMAKOPIA. The dedicated website, stylishly designed in green and black, features a map set to be “refreshed daily” and various merchandise options. Fans can buy hoodies, a limited-edition CD, a poster, and a special container with the album’s title inscribed on it.
CHROMAKOPIA will follow up on 2021’s CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST, which included collaborations with YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Ty Dolla Sign, Lil Wayne, Teezo Touchdown, Brent Faiyaz, and many others. It also received a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album.
“When I mention CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST, I’m not implying you should call when you’re lost. Instead, I want you to call me sharing what you’re focused on and the things you’re doing,” Tyler explained regarding the album’s title during one of his tour stops. “I don’t want people reaching out to me saying, ‘Oh, I’m feeling low. I’m not sure what to do’—no, forget that. Call me and tell me you’re on your path because I’m definitely on mine.”
