ASAP Rocky and Rihanna stand as one of the last dynamic duos in the music industry. On Tuesday (October 8), he adorned the cover of W Magazine, captured by the very woman who is the mother of his two children.
In his discussion with the magazine, the “F**kin’ Problems” artist expressed the moment he realized they were destined to be a perfect family. “I knew from back in the day. We both did, I think. So it made sense as we matured. We just naturally reconnected,” he elaborated on their relationship around 2019 or 2020.
Rocky and Rihanna officially announced their relationship in 2020 after being seen together multiple times. They held hands at the 2019 British Fashion Awards and collaborated on Fenty Skin’s inaugural campaign the subsequent year.
As the interview progressed, Rocky discussed which of his two sons bears the most resemblance to him. “I believe RZA will grow up to be more reserved. He’s an introvert,” he explained. “Riot, on the other hand, is outgoing—just like his mother. RZA reflects more of his father; he’s my little double. He has his mother’s forehead, but the rest is all me.”
Recounting his and Rihanna’s first encounter, Rocky shared, “I was thrown out of a nightclub. They wouldn’t let me in. This was during my early days, so I was relatively unknown. I was with Matthew Williams and Virgil [Abloh]. I was having a disagreement with the bouncers when she stepped outside. Our eyes met; she didn’t even recognize us, but she exclaimed, ‘What’s the issue? Let him in!’”
In terms of music, Rocky and Rihanna unveiled a remix of “Cockiness (Love It)” back in 2012, followed by his performance as a supporting act in the “Diamonds World Tour.” They also portrayed romantic figures in the Harlem native’s “Fashion Killa” music video.
