Tyla has provided an exciting update about her self-titled debut album. On Monday (Oct. 7), she revealed that TYLA (Deluxe) will become available on streaming platforms on Friday (Oct. 11), featuring three additional tracks: “Shake Ah” featuring Tony Duardo, Optimist, and Maestro; “Push 2 Start,” and “Back To You.”
The South African singer-songwriter additionally unveiled the album cover, which appears to pay tribute to her hit song from 2023, “Water.” The artwork depicts Tyla drenched in water while donned in a brown corset, with a running water hose encircling her waist. Conversely, the back cover showcases her heels poised in a puddle.
“Turned 15 minutes [of fame] into a year, and you’re still thriving, and you continue to shine!” one user remarked on Instagram in response to the update. Another commenter added, “You forgot ‘Disco,’” alluding to a much-anticipated unreleased track she hinted at earlier this year.
TYLA debuted in March, featuring collaborations from Travis Scott, Tems, Gunna, Skillibeng, and Becky G, among others. With standout tracks like “Jump” and “ART,” the 14-song album entered the charts at No. 24 on the Billboard 200, selling 24,000 album-equivalent units.
Unfortunately, Tyla was unable to embark on a tour for the album as she had originally intended. During the same month, the international pop sensation shared on social media that she had been “silently suffering” from a deteriorating injury and that hitting the road could ultimately “compromise [her] long-term health and safety.”
That aside, it seems circumstances have improved for the “On and On” artist. She is set to headline Victoria’s Secret’s Fashion Show on Oct. 15, alongside icons like Cher. Tyla expressed to Rolling Stone, “I’m excited to take the stage on this iconic and nostalgic platform. It’s even more thrilling to celebrate diversity, highlighting a wider spectrum of beauty, which makes this moment truly remarkable.”
