DDG and Joe Budden

DDG isn’t backing down from his feud with Joe Budden. On the evening of Sunday, October 6, he launched additional barbs at the Slaughterhouse MC during the “No Ordinary Podcast.”
In reference to “Pump It Up,” DDG questioned, “Did it really take you two decades to achieve gold status? To earn a gold record, one must sell 500,000 units, right? For context, I’ve secured three gold records and [another] that’s double platinum.”
His tracks “Arguments,” “I’m Geekin,” and “Hood Melody” featuring YoungBoy Never Broke Again have been certified gold by the RIAA. Additionally, his collaboration with Blueface, “Moonwalking in Calabasas,” achieved platinum status in 2021.
“This dude is old enough to be my uncle or father. He’s just an old man. He doesn’t qualify as an OG to me — dude, there’s no respect coming your way from me — he’s more like an older guy,” DDG expressed. “To be honest, after checking out his achievements, I felt significantly better about myself because a lot of people come at me harshly. These fools don’t even have any plaques.”
During a Saturday (Oct. 5) episode of his own podcast, Budden posed the question, “Who the hell is DDG?” The New York artist continued, “I’m thrilled to hear that they have parted ways so I don’t have to keep seeing this name connected to [Halle Bailey’s] name when I don’t know him from Adam as an individual, and for me, it’s vital to recognize people based on their own merit and accomplishments.”
Taking to Twitter, DDG confessed he had been restrained regarding comments about women but emphasized, “[You] folks with platforms are going to receive a reaction.” He then unleashed a series of tweets directed at Budden for commenting on a relationship involving individuals as young as his own children. The “She Don’t Put It Down” performer responded with “LOL” and added, “I love this place.”
