The ex-NFL player Eddie Lacy is lucky to have avoided serious harm to himself or others during his DUI arrest last month… as authorities report that he was operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding FOUR TIMES the permissible limit.
According to the Scottsdale Police Department, the incident occurred on September 30, following a 911 call from a woman who expressed concern about a vehicle matching the description of Lacy’s Audi SUV driving recklessly, fearing it might “cause a fatal accident.”
As per a police report from the SPD, acquired by TMZ Sports, officers stopped Lacy in his Q8 shortly after the emergency call was placed… nearly right away, they noticed something was unusual about the former Green Bay Packers’ running back.
“Eddie’s speech was sluggish,” a police officer noted in the report, “slurred and muddled right from the moment I started speaking to him.”
Body camera recordings reveal Lacy struggled to articulate clear and logical sentences—even after the officer mentioned he recognized him from his time with the Alabama Crimson Tide.
However, when pressed further during the encounter, Lacy admitted to one of the officers that he had consumed alcohol during his flight to Arizona—reporting he had “one shot” of tequila.
Ultimately, authorities removed Lacy from his vehicle — despite being unable to conduct a full array of field sobriety assessments owing to injuries he claimed were sustained throughout his NFL career–

The authorities succeeded in having him take a breathalyzer test, which they claimed produced a reading of .325.
When questioned about his knowledge of the legal limit in Arizona, Lacy confirmed he was aware, stating, “I’ve previously faced a serious DUI charge.” However, he was unable to affirm whether .08 was indeed the correct threshold.
The officers then placed handcuffs on the 34-year-old and informed him of his arrest for DUI.
Legal documents indicate that he has been charged with multiple offenses, including one count of extreme DUI with a blood alcohol content of .20 or higher. He is expected to appear in court for a hearing on this matter next month.
As Lacy pointed out during the police footage, this isn’t his first encounter with extreme DUI charges. Records we’ve acquired indicate that back in March 2022, he was accused of navigating around Scottsdale with a BAC of .247.

Lacy, who attended an alumni event at Lambeau Field just prior to his arrest, had an impressive NFL career from 2013 to 2017, accumulating a total of 3,614 rushing yards over 60 games.
