Sexyy Red has consistently demonstrated her resilience against online criticism. On Thursday (Oct. 3), during an Instagram Live session, the “Pound Town” creator read a remark aloud that likened one of her friends to Finesse2Tymes.
“Who resembles Finesse?” Red queried her audience, subsequently covering her mouth. In the background, someone questioned, “Why [do] they keep saying that?” Another friend chimed in: “Everyone put their face in the camera. Who the f**k looks like Finesse? No one over here resembles Finesse.”
The clip quickly spread across social networks, with multiple individuals accusing Red of deliberately mocking someone in her circle. “Beware of the ‘friends’ that find it excessively amusing,” remarked one commenter beneath The Neighborhood Talk’s repost. Another user commented, “[You] wouldn’t pay me to read any disparaging remarks about my friends. That’s strange.”
The Hood Hottest Princess artist became aware of the uproar and chose to respond directly. “Look, we [are] from St. Louis. We’ve got thick skin and [we’ve] always been joking around. We don’t care about [none of this]. The humor was amusing,” she stated in the comments section. “[People] say I resemble Young Thug all the time and we have a laugh. We all still get [n**gas], so on to the next.”
On the musical front, Red unveiled the visuals for “U Kno What To Do (UKWTD)” on Wednesday (Oct. 2). This marked her first solo release since the May album In Sexyy We Trust. This 14-track project featured contributions from artists including Drake, Mike WiLL Made-It, VonOff1700, and Lil Baby, alongside standout tracks like “U My Everything” and “Get It Sexyy.”
The artist’s “Sexyy Red 4 President Tour,” which included Kodak Black as a guest performer, officially concluded on Tuesday (Oct. 1). During the tour, the Missouri native welcomed artists such as Ice Spice and JT onstage.
