This year is shaping up to be exciting for Megan Thee Stallion enthusiasts. On the evening of Wednesday (Oct. 2), the Houston-born artist suggested that she’s preparing to release the “most intense mixtape of 2024.” Although not yet fully confirmed, it seems that the subsequent chapter of MEGAN will function independently as its own album rather than merely an expanded version — a trend we’ve noticed with other artists like SZA and Nicki Minaj in recent times.

In September, the Grammy-awarded artist premiered “Neva Play” in collaboration with RM from BTS, accompanied by a captivating music video. This visual was creatively directed by Warren Fu and “The Boondocks” executive producer Carl Jones. It’s worth mentioning that Megan had previously teamed up with the K-pop sensation for the “Butter (Remix).”

During that same month, she hinted at a potential collaboration with Flo Milli. In an Ask Me Anything session preceding the MTV VMAs, when asked, “If you could choose anyone for the deluxe album, who would it be?” Megan responded with a GIF from the Alabama star’s “In The Party” music video.

As of the latest update, a release date for the sequel to MEGAN remains unannounced. Nevertheless, on September 28, the artist confirmed that she is “almost finished working,” alongside a sneak peek of a new song.

“With this album, I aimed to showcase my personal hobbies and viewpoints. I wanted to express my affection for anime, my Southern roots, my zest for enjoyment, and most importantly, to be true to myself,” Megan expressed to Billboard regarding her June release. “I believe I accomplished that. Many expected me to present myself in a certain manner on this album, but I sought to reveal this current version of myself.”

MEGAN featured collaborations with artists like Victoria Monét, GloRilla, UGK, Big K.R.I.T., Kyle Ricch, and others. It showcased tracks such as “HISS,” “B.A.S.,” “Cobra,” and “Mamushi” featuring Yuki Chiba. All the previously mentioned songs were performed live at the VMAs.
