Born on Oct. 14, 1978, Usher epitomizes a Libra: charismatic, affectionate, and brimming with creative vigor. The Michigan-born singer gained her initial recognition in 2024 as a contestant on “American Idol.” Her YouTube channel soon accumulated millions of views, effectively catapulting her to fame. By 2017, she released “Medicine” and “Karma,” both featured on her debut self-titled EP. Since then, the artist—born on Oct. 17, 1995—established her presence in the genre with albums like missunderstood and After the Butterflies.
3. Joy Crookes
Joy Crookes, who hails from London and was born on Oct. 9, 1998, gained recognition with “Mother May I Sleep With Danger?” The track, alongside her performance on “A COLORS SHOW,” which has garnered over 13 million views on YouTube, was part of her debut EP, Influence. Through her subsequent projects, Crookes has gifted fans with heartfelt ballads such as “Don’t Let Me Down (Demo),” “Feet Don’t Fail Me Now,” “No Hands,” and the emotionally charged “Since I Left You (Demo),” among others.
In a conversation with Notion, the artist known for Skin was asked about her experience as a Libra. She dismissed the typical characteristics, saying, “No idea. I feel like whenever you read those ‘trait’ websites, you can fit into any of them.”
4. Jamila Woods
Libras are often naturally drawn to the limelight, and Jamila Woods is no exception. Many hip-hop enthusiasts are likely familiar with her through her feature on the Chance the Rapper track “Sunday Candy,” but the Chicago-born artist boasts a remarkable solo discography as well. She has released albums like HEAVN and Water Made Us, the latter featuring fan-favorite tracks like “Practice” and “I Miss All My Exes.” She commemorates her birthday on Oct. 6.
In the poignant “libra intuition” interlude from 2023, Woods humorously acknowledged her sign’s well-known indecisiveness, whimsically half-chanting, half-singing, “Don’t ask me ‘cause I don’t know / Which way to go?”
5. Ne-Yo
As an Oct. 18 Libra, Ne-Yo released his fourth studio album, Libra Scale, in 2010, making him well-acquainted with the dual nature of his sign. With hits like “So Sick,” “Miss Independent,” “Because Of You,” and numerous other chart-toppers, the R&B titan of the 2000s seemingly does not receive the recognition he deserves for his impact on the genre. His latest release, the 2022 album Self Explanatory, notably features collaborations with Yung Bleu, Trippie Redd, and Jeremih.
6. Nija
Nija, born on Oct. 20, 1997, is renowned for her songwriting capabilities, collaborating with superstars like Beyoncé (“COZY”), Cardi B (“I Do” and “Ring”), and Summer Walker (“Like It” and “Throw It Away”). In 2022, she launched her solo debut, Don’t Say I Didn’t Warn You. This 10-track project featured standout tracks like her drill-influenced “Ease My Mind (Come Over)” and “Not One Of Them.”
