Willie Nelson is back on the campaign circuit … as he reveals a cannabis-focused Zoom call he’s orchestrating to back Kamala Harris in the upcoming week.
On Saturday, the iconic singer-songwriter made the announcement … sharing a note about the forthcoming Zoom he’s hosting from his Luck Ranch located in Texas.
Within the announcement, Willie expressed that cannabis serves as a means of healing … and that candidates like Harris recognize the necessity of abolishing the federal prohibition on marijuana while also reflecting on the previous sentences given for possession.
No doubt, Willie has his share of cannabis arrests … finding himself in cuffs several times throughout the years for possessing some of the green.
The upcoming virtual gathering will include notable guests such as Whoopi Goldberg, Brittney Spencer, Margo Price, and Colorado Governor Jared Polis— a truly HIGH-profile assembly, one might say.
Earlier this week, the current Vice President voiced her commitment to fully legalizing marijuana … with initiatives aiming to ensure that Black men — who have been disproportionately impacted by drug possession incarcerations — gain advantages within the industry.
Some experts within the marijuana sector are doubtful regarding the potential promise … given that it will require approval from Congress — but it’s one of the clearest positions a candidate has taken on the issue to date.
It appears that Willie is quite enthusiastic about Kamala’s message … and, he along with his friends will toast to the Democratic nominee next week!
