Damian Lillard and GloRilla

On Monday, September 30, the NBA held its Media Day for the Milwaukee Bucks and a few other teams. During the press conference, point guard Damian Lillard was inquired about his connection — or absence thereof — with GloRilla, whom he encountered back in February.
“I maintain my private life as private, you know? I allow it to stay that way. I hold her in high regard as an artist,” Lillard expressed. “We are acquainted. She’s a performer; I’m a performer, but regarding anything beyond that, there’s nothin’ happening. That’s about all I can share.”
The two first crossed paths at the 2024 NBA All-Star Game held in Indiana. Moments after snapping a photo with the basketball star, GloRilla tweeted, “Who n**ga [this] is? ‘Cause I want him #GetEmGlo.” In a subsequent tweet, she stated, “Whoever she may be can’t outdo me, so I truly [don’t give a f**k].”
The remarks from the Memphis artist notably caught the eye of Lillard’s ex-wife, Kay’La Hanson. The couple married in 2021, but she sought a divorce in October 2023 citing “irreconcilable differences.” Many individuals speculated that his transfer from the Portland Trail Blazers to the Bucks had a connection to this, although neither party has commented on the conjectures.
Meanwhile, during an April interview with Shannon Sharpe on the “Club Shay Shay” podcast, GloRilla revisited the conversation. “Did [your shot] land?” asked the host, to which she answered, “The half-court shot? At the end of the day, the day [is] gon’ finish.”
GloRilla’s GLORIOUS is set to premiere on streaming platforms on October 11. Touted as her inaugural album, this 15-track collection will feature “Hollon” and “TGIF,” the latter receiving significant endorsements from Rihanna and Victoria Monét. The project will be the CMG signee’s second release in 2024, following Ehhthang Ehhthang.
