Nicki Minaj has officially moved on from being signed with Lil Wayne’s iconic label, Young Money. This label previously showcased multi-platinum sensations such as Drake, Tyga, Lil Twist, Gudda Gudda, Mack Maine, and several others.

On Friday (Sept. 27), the famed artist dispelled the speculation that her forthcoming album would be her final release under the Young Money label. The original tweet that she quoted declared, “After 15 years, Nicki Minaj has officially concluded her contract with the record label Young Money.” In response, she asserted, “It’s been over for years. You can read my tweets but opt not to. SANDOS.”

She also reshared a remark stating that it was incorrect to say that “Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 3 will be her inaugural album solely with Republic Records, as her contract with Young Money / Cash Money Records has expired.” She elaborated further, clarifying, “Pink Friday 2 was directly through Republic as well. They provided me the opportunity to retain #YoungMoney on just the credits of the album. I decided to keep it for this one. However, PF2 was solely through Republic Records.”

She further emphasized that when she released her iconic mixtape Beam Me Up Scottie on digital streaming platforms, it was also directly through Republic Records, which is affiliated with major artists like Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, Drake, and many others.

Minaj is presently touring alongside Tyga and BIA. Recently, she gained attention for her comments regarding Kendrick Lamar being selected as the headliner for the Super Bowl LIX halftime show instead of her former label boss Lil Wayne. She appeared to take jabs at JAY-Z and Roc Nation following that decision. Although she expressed admiration for Lamar, she firmly maintained that Wayne was denied an opportunity to shine on the biggest platform in music. She took to social media multiple times to voice her opinions on the performer selection.

The “Anaconda” rapper has been teasing her upcoming album that is supposed to drop at any moment now.
