Liam Payne‘s supporters are channeling their sorrow into his music, with streaming figures for his solo songs and One Direction tracks skyrocketing on Spotify.
Prior to his untimely passing last week, Liam boasted 4.7 million monthly listeners on the platform, a number that has surged to nearly 8 million now. Moreover, his 2019 initial single “Strip That Down,” featuring Quavo, has gained over 800,000 additional streams since that time.
One Direction is also experiencing a surge in streaming numbers — their monthly listeners have increased from 42.4 million to nearly 50 million.
In addition, their top three tracks — “Night Changes,” “Story of My Life,” and “What Makes You Beautiful” — have all accrued an extra 13 to 17 million streams each.
Biggest streaming day even though half of us are too broken to go near any of their songs💔💔 https://t.co/YAuvxqRmvl

On the day following Liam’s passing, One Direction registered their highest-ever streaming day, accumulating a remarkable 57.5 million streams — nearly five times more than the previous day!
The figures are astonishing, particularly considering that a portion of Liam’s followers have expressed on X that they are too heartbroken to listen to his music just yet.
As previously reported, Liam tragically fell to his death from a third-floor hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina, last week. Toxicology reports have confirmed that he had both cocaine and crack in his system.
