SZA had a remarkable conversation with Katt Williams while on the set of her first film, and he believes she possesses the “It” quality to soar beyond expectations!
The artist behind “S.O.S,” in a feature for Harper’s Bazaar alongside Kendrick Lamar, shared that Katt helped dispel her nerves during her debut acting role, where she stars alongside Keke Palmer.
SZA confided in Kendrick that she was anxious and even considered skipping the premiere set for January when the movie launches, but Katt was there to help soothe her apprehensions.
“I met Katt Williams [on location],” SZA reminisced. “He remarked that I had some ‘mental illness’ — I took that as a compliment. His words were, ‘Sa, I feel you might carry a bit of a mental—’ And I was like, ‘Illness?'”
And he assured her, “You’re welcome!”
It’s intriguing that the duo behind “Doves In The Wind” didn’t delve deeper into Katt’s methods … especially as his candid chat on “Club Shay Shay” paved the way for a contentious year among artists, featuring rivalries like Kendrick Lamar vs. Drake!
Issa Rae might have a problem with SZA if she skips out on the film promotion … her Hoorae production house worked on the film — the title remains under wraps — which also features Maude Apatow, Lil Rel Howery, and Janelle James.
