Jenna Fischer expresses her gratitude for life … disclosing how her ordeal with breast cancer has inspired her to overlook the trivial hassles that accompany city living.
The star of “The Office” made an appearance on the “Today” show this past Monday, where she chatted with Hoda Kotb about her battle with breast cancer … and the enduring effects it has had on her.
Earlier in the month, Jenna revealed that she had been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive type of breast cancer, stating that “the most critical aspects of life became incredibly evident very swiftly” following her shocking medical diagnosis.
She elaborated … “I perceive the world as an exceptionally beautiful entity in all its oddities. Even the things that would previously annoy me, I now sometimes regard as endearing.”
For example, the notoriously terrible traffic in Los Angeles is now simply “cute” in her eyes.

Admittedly, her positive perspective didn’t develop from the very beginning … with Jenna acknowledging that she found her medical evaluations to be bothersome, labeling her routine mammogram as “irritating.”
Now, Jenna is incredibly thankful she adhered to her yearly check-up … detailing how she discovered her cancer diagnosis while perusing her medical portal during a hike.
She went on … “That’s when I encountered terms like, ‘invasive,’ ‘ductal,’ ‘carcinoma,’ ‘malignant.’ I thought to myself, ‘Those terms resemble cancer terminology.’
Following that, Jenna underwent a lumpectomy in January, along with 12 chemotherapy sessions, and 3 weeks of radiation. Jenna shared that she initially feared losing her hair … noting that she would style her hair to cover her bald spot during treatment.
Currently, she is ongoing with her infusion therapy, which is set to continue until February next year.
