No, Usher did not erase his Twitter account over the weekend. On Sunday (Sept. 22), the “I Don’t Mind” star disclosed that his account had been compromised, although he provided little information beyond that.
“[My] account was breached and damn, y’all took it and ran!” he posted on the platform. “See you this evening at Intuit Dome.” It’s important to note that over 7,000 of the R&B icon’s tweets vanished the day before (Sept. 21), and at the time of the reporting, merely around 6,800 had been restored.
Cyber intrusions have increasingly plagued Twitter in recent months. Among the latest victims is Latto, with Doja Cat and Flo Milli also experiencing account breaches in May and July, respectively.
Usher is slated to return to Los Angeles’ Intuit Dome on Tuesday (Sept. 24) and Wednesday (Sept. 25), the latter marking his fourth consecutive performance at the venue. Following that, his “PAST PRESENT FUTURE TOUR” is set to hit various cities including Oakland, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta, and Charlotte.
This tour comes right after his stunning Super Bowl LVIII halftime appearance and a celebrated 100-date residency in Las Vegas. In addition to his classic hits, Usher is delighting audiences with live performances of tracks from his latest album, COMING HOME, which features 20 tracks including “Good Good” featuring 21 Savage and Summer Walker, “A-Town Girl” with Latto, and “Kissing Strangers.”
As Rap-Up reported earlier this month, Usher is also set to release a new song in collaboration with Coke Studios. “Being part of this year’s Coke Studio lineup is a true privilege and a chance to connect with my fans through the power of music,” he stated. “Collaborating with Coca-Cola to bring these experiences to life is thrilling, and I look forward to fans joining us in the magic we are creating together.”
