In her partnership with FendiDa Rappa on “Point Me 2,” Cardi B delivered the lines, “And I’m armed with receipts, I be proving s**t.” Staying true to her bars, she took action against a lawsuit claiming she and Offset utilized a luxurious Beverly Hills residence as a filming spot for “Like What (Freestyle)” without paying the complete amount on Tuesday (Sept. 17).

“The issue is people [want to] exploit loopholes and benefit, but dress your best, b**ch,” the Grammy-winning artist tweeted alongside an image of the supposed transaction, indicating a payment of $4,500. She added emphatically, “I’ll see you in court!!!!”

The lawsuit alleged that Cardi and Offset reserved the venue under the pretense of filming a TikTok but subsequently used it for her comprehensive music video endeavor. Now, the complainant is charging them with trespassing, deceit, and unjust enrichment while seeking a share of the earnings from the “Like What (Freestyle)” video — which has amassed 27 million views on YouTube as of now — along with punitive damages.

“We compensated those individuals $10,000 in cash to rent the property for a full 24 hours that same day, from 6 a.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning, and we exceeded the time by one hour, for which we paid additional fees to the realtor in March,” Cardi explained in her rebuttal. “There were cameras everywhere, and both the realtors and the property owners were present throughout… I have photos and videos of them on set!”

The Invasion of Privacy rapper also dismissed the claims of misleading the homeowners, asserting, “Why on earth would it take us 24 hours to film a TikTok?”

Earlier this month, Cardi welcomed a baby girl.

Together with Offset, they now share three children, including Kulture and Wave, whose birthday was celebrated at the end of August. Although the couple has yet to disclose their newborn’s name, the New York rapper shared family photos on September 12.
