Damon Wayans Jr. openly admits that he hasn’t experienced all that his renowned family has to offer in their vast filmography … while he enjoys humorous films, he couldn’t get beyond the preview of certain action movies!!!
During a segment of “The Breakfast Club,” DWJ was asked about studying Wayans films throughout his childhood, and he confessed to completely passing on Uncle Keenan Ivory‘s 1996 “thriller” “The Glimmer Man” … you know, the one he shared the screen with Steven Seagal.
If nothing springs to mind, you’re not by yourself … “The Breakfast Club” hosts responded to his reference to the film with utter silence!!!
DWJ claims he’s all in for classics such as “Don’t Be a Menace,” “Major Payne,” and “Blankman” — in which he has a cameo — but holds no regrets regarding bypassing “Glimmer Man.”
He isn’t the only one … the film could only muster $41.8 million against a $45 million budget before fading away into HBO oblivion. Fans — along with DWJ — preferred Keenan in action in “A Low Down Dirty Shame” instead!!!
Damon and his son Damon Jr. are actively upholding their family tradition with their fresh sitcom “Poppa’s House” … and it’s common knowledge that Keenan will be observing more critically now!!!
