On Monday night (Sept. 16), JT’s “City Cinderella Tour” arrived in Houston, where the rapper delighted fans with a selection of tracks from her inaugural solo EP. Her City Girls partner, Yung Miami, was present to show her support.
In her Instagram Stories, the “50/50” artist posted clips of JT delivering “Intro (Hope)” and “JT Coming.” Fans across social media buzzed with excitement over the duo supporting one another, though many expressed a wish that they would have performed together on stage for one of their iconic hits. “I’m happy they’ve patched things up,” commented one user beneath Hollywood Unlocked’s repost.
“I adore JT, but Miami [has] never truly been a hater, and it frustrates me that you all try to make it seem that way,” read another response, accumulating over 1,000 likes. A different user remarked, “Friends can have disagreements. We all evolve [and] change over time while ultimately supporting each other like nothing ever happened.”
As both artists have previously mentioned, their indefinite hiatus as City Girls was a mutual decision. The duo began diverting their focus to their individual successful careers as album sales for RAW had been disappointing, with only 10,000 copies sold. Even with a star-studded lineup, the project primarily floundered due to poor timing, having been announced just over a week ahead of its release.
“We’re getting older now, and [JT] was pursuing her path,” Yung Miami shared with Complex in June. “She [is] out West, while I’m based in Miami. I’m focused on my journey. I felt that when she was doing her own thing, it worked for her, and it was the same for me when I pursued my own projects. But when we came together as a group, it simply wasn’t syncing.”
JT’s “City Cinderella Tour” is set to wrap up on Sunday (Sept. 22) at The Novo in Los Angeles. Before the tour finale, she will perform at BET’s Vote Fest in Philadelphia as part of National Black Voter Day.
