The fighter who was brutally knocked out after receiving an outrageously illegal kick to the face during a contest is determined to ensure that his rival faces severe consequences — revealing to TMZ Sports his desire to see the opponent banned for life.
If you haven’t viewed the shocking footage of the incident yet … Bagher Faraji was facing off against Idris Abdurashidov in Phuket, Thailand … when unexpectedly, the Russian fighter opted for a kick instead of throwing punches — leading to his immediate disqualification.
Faraji was decisively outboxing Abdurashidov in the bout prior to the appalling act … prompting fans to quickly demand immediate and harsh repercussions.
Abdurashidov mentioned that he reconciled with Faraji and they exchanged handshakes post-incident … while asserting that he received a lifetime suspension.
Assuming that’s accurate, Faraji fully supports this action … expressing that the incident clearly isn’t a matter that can be overlooked or dismissed like Abdurashidov implied.
“He poses a grave threat to this sport and should not be allowed to compete,” Faraji stated.
“I am a fighter, and it is irrelevant to me who my opponent is. This competitor was even 5 kilos heavier than I am.”
Faraji went on to add … “He is not a genuine athlete.”
Abdurashidov had multiple encounters in MMA prior to his boxing debut … but given the manner in which his inaugural bout in the ring unfolded, it could potentially be his last.
