Fans have not had much visibility of Lil Uzi Vert recently, particularly after the Philadelphia artist deactivated their social media accounts earlier this year. Nevertheless, it appears that the musician is gradually preparing for the launch of their next full-length project.
At midnight on Wednesday (Oct. 23), they unveiled a new track entitled “Uzi The Earthling! (TV Show Theme).” This 30-second interlude featured no vocals from the RED & WHITE rapper, but instead showcased a commercial-like jingle performed by a female singer.
“Let me tell you about a fellow named Uzi/ Famous for his jewels and unique style/ From the pavements to the stage, he’s moving swiftly/ Creating tunes that will make you grin,” she sang. “Little Uzi Vert, he’s the one to see/ Spreading happiness for you and me/ Little Uzi Vert, he’s the one to see.”
The track is potentially featured on Uzi’s eagerly awaited Eternal Atake 2, as suggested by the accompanying artwork. It showcased a keyhole reminiscent of that from the Grammy nominee’s 2020 album, with a prominent No. 2 inside.
This year, Uzi notoriously declared intentions to retire from music. “Why not quit now? Because business isn’t conducted in that manner. I still have one last album to submit. After that, I can genuinely feel at ease,” they expressed on social media. Another post stated, “I do not reply to negativity. I possess a [gift], but I also carry a heart and have been bottling up so much… I JUST WANNA BREATHE.”
For better or for worse, Uzi has yet to provide any updates regarding what they referred to as their concluding project, Luv Is Rage 3. This LP was expected to be a present for fans following the success of 2023’s Pink Tape, which reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Apart from music, the “Just Wanna Rock” sensation was featured in a campaign for Marc Jacobs’ 40th anniversary back in June. They showcased a limited-edition tote bag crafted by Stephen Sprouse.
