LeBron James and his son, Bronny, find themselves facing a distinctly different type of legal battle… TMZ Sports has uncovered that they are being sued concerning their supposed involvement in a vehicle accident from 2022.
According to the court filings we accessed, the lawsuit was submitted by two plaintiffs in Los Angeles County on Tuesday afternoon… mere hours prior to when the father-son pair played together for the first time in a regular season match during the Lakers’ opening game of the season against Minnesota at the Crypto.com Arena.
In the legal complaint, April Almanza Lopez and Kiara Rae McGillen assert that they were operating a vehicle on a highway on November 13, 2022, in Littlerock, California… when the Jameses collided with them.
Lopez and McGillen detailed in the documents that they incurred injuries requiring additional medical care. They further claimed that the vehicle they were driving suffered damage, resulting in diminished value due to the incident.
They are seeking unspecified compensation from the two basketball icons.

We’ve reached out to the attorney representing the plaintiffs but have yet to receive a response. Meanwhile, the James family has not publicly commented on the issue.
Despite the ongoing lawsuit, the Jameses had a remarkable Tuesday… they took to the court together for several moments in an impressive 110-103 win over the Timberwolves—afterward, LeBron expressed on his Instagram page that he’d “NEVER FORGET THAT MOMENT FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.”
