Todd Chrisley is currently job hunting while behind bars — he has been let go from his position at the prison chapel due to being overly sociable with certain inmates… as reported by TMZ.
The legal representative for the reality star, Jay Surgent, informed us that Todd has been relieved from his duties at the chapel located within FPC Pensacola, where he is currently serving his time.
According to Surgent, Todd had been assisting a chaplain by organizing worship services for inmates of various religions — including Christianity, Judaism, and Islam — and was reportedly performing well in his role.
Nonetheless, officials at the prison appear to have a different viewpoint. Surgent explains that Todd was occupying a small office adjacent to the prison’s Residential Drug Abuse Program and had been chatting with inmates involved in that program.
It’s not specified what exactly Todd communicated to those inmates, but his lawyer states prison staff disapproved of Todd interacting with them entirely.
It appears the complication arises because the inmates in the RDAP split their time between prison and being out in the community. Surgent suspects that officials prefer to prevent Todd from discussing his incarceration with those part-time inmates who can access the outside world.
A spokesperson for the Federal Bureau of Prisons commented to TMZ… “For reasons related to privacy, we refrain from discussing the specifics of any inmate’s confinement conditions, including their work assignments.”
As followers of “Chrisley Knows Best” are aware, Todd is very devout, deeply proud of his beliefs, and relies on his faith to help endure his lengthy 12-year sentence.
Sources indicate that he took pleasure in organizing spiritual gatherings for fellow inmates and is eager to reclaim his position as soon as possible to continue his contributions.
In the interim, his lawyer reassures that Todd still has the opportunity to participate in spiritual services.
