Even with an already extended delay, Playboi Carti’s “Antagonist Tour” is still anticipated to proceed, as confirmed by Ken Carson on Sunday night (Sept. 15).
While signing memorabilia outside the O2 Victoria Warehouse in Manchester, a fan inquired whether the rapper of “Rock N Roll” would announce fresh dates for the tour. He casually replied, “Mhm.” Sadly, he didn’t provide a timeline in the video that’s been shared widely online.
Initially, the “Antagonist Tour” was set to kick off its North American segment in late 2023 but has since been moved to January 2024. Ken Carson, along with other Opium Records artists Destroy Lonely and Homixide Gang, was supposed to hit the road with Playboi Carti.
Considering his recent endeavors, a tour at this late stage remains feasible, albeit possibly under a different title. On Sept. 13, the collaborator behind “Type S**t” released “ALL RED,” which was his first single of the year to debut on streaming services. He previously stirred interest among fans with tracks like “2024,” “BACKR00MS” featuring Travis Scott, and “EVILJ0RDAN.”
Playboi Carti’s fellow Opium signees have been very active as well. In July, Carson unveiled the deluxe version of A Great Chaos, adding seven new songs, including “mewtwo,” “overseas,” and “ss”—the latter named after Emmy-nominated star Sydney Sweeney. His “Chaos World Tour” is projected to conclude in November, with performances planned in cities such as London, Paris, Baltimore, Nashville, and Memphis, among others.
Destroy Lonely, conversely, released LOVE LASTS FOREVER in August, featuring tracks like “LOVE HURTS” alongside Lil Uzi Vert, “WISH YOU WELL,” and “SHIP HER OFF.” Additionally, Homixide Gang’s i5u5we5 made its debut in May with a single guest appearance from Lil Yachty.
As Rap-Up highlighted over the weekend, Carson referenced his and Destroy Lonely’s “MDMA” during a lyrical back-and-forth between Carti and LUCKI. The lyric stated, “Lil’ boy, you should’ve signed to Opium, I laugh at that n**ga, he slavin’.”
