On Friday, September 13, Victoria Monét revealed the deluxe version of her inaugural album, JAGUAR II. This highly anticipated release is set to appear on streaming services on October 4.
The acclaimed artist posted a promotional video on her social media accounts, beginning with her enjoying “Alright” in a cinema. “Girl, you’re killing it,” remarked someone nearby. After depleting her popcorn, Monét made her way to the snack counter to replenish her supply, only to discover two employees engrossed in a passionate kiss.
“I apologize for interrupting your moment, but I was hoping to order some more JAGUAR II popcorn, please?” she stated. When they inquired about her order size, Monét cheekily responded, “I believe this time I’m going for the deluxe option.”
JAGUAR II (Deluxe) will feature 10 extra tracks, including two that dropped earlier this year: “SOS (Sex on Sight)” featuring Usher, and her collaboration with Bryson Tiller, “We Might Even Be Falling In Love.”
“I was contemplating whether or not to release it, thinking that the Grammy victory would serve as a perfect conclusion to this chapter. However, I had promised my fans a deluxe edition. There are so many songs that I created,” Monét elaborated about the upcoming project on “The Angie Martinez Show.” When asked what else fans might anticipate beyond “SOS (Sex on Sight),” she replied, “Following that, I’m allowing people to choose. ‘What do you want to hear more of? Where should we concentrate? Would you like a video for any of these tracks?’ I’m always in the studio recording.”
Significantly, the original JAGUAR II earned the title of Best R&B Album at the 66th Grammy Awards. Monét also clinched the awards for Best New Artist and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical on that memorable night.
During her conversation with Martinez, the artist behind “On My Mama” also disclosed that she and Usher, whom she connected with through her vocal coach, have collaborated on another track.
