Erik and Lyle Menendez are presently waiting for news from L.A. County D.A. George Gascón regarding a significant update on their case… however, their fellow inmates have already begun acting as though their release is imminent, TMZ has discovered.
A source from inside the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility has informed TMZ that inmates are already queuing up and expressing their interest in the Menendez brothers’ belongings in prison… all in hopes of acquiring a prized keepsake or two.
Reports indicate that everything—including clothing and their televisions—is currently available for grab, despite it being against prison policies.
According to our insider, technically, the brothers aren’t permitted to distribute any of their possessions… however, this hasn’t deterred inmates from stealthily forming a line within the confines of the San Diego facility.
Despite the surge in attention surrounding Erik and Lyle’s situation, we’ve been informed that the brothers have remained rather subdued and introverted this week. Our source suggests that they seem “on edge” about the forthcoming news from the D.A.’s office… as their destinies hang in Gascón’s balance.
Nonetheless, the notorious pair has been assuring their fellow inmates that they will do everything possible on the outside to assist with their cases!
Gascón conducted a press conference earlier in October, where he disclosed that his office is currently reviewing new evidence related to the case… which may lead to a resentencing or a fresh trial, potentially freeing them after nearly 35 years behind bars.

Erik and Lyle are presently serving life sentences without the possibility of parole for the murder of their parents José and Kitty Menendez in 1989. The notorious brothers faced two trials for the homicides… their initial trial led to a mistrial due to the jury’s inability to reach a unanimous verdict.
Claims of sexual abuse against their deceased father were not permitted to be introduced during their second murder trial… in which they were ultimately found guilty.
Expect an update from the D.A.’s office at 1:30 PM PT today; we plan to live stream it. So, remain tuned…
