Hip Hop icon and producer DJ Clark Kent passed away on Thursday night after an extensive battle with colon cancer, as confirmed by his family.
As per their announcement, the 58-year-old esteemed Native New Yorker – named Rodolfo A. Franklin at birth – departed this world surrounded by his beloved wife, Kesha, and their children, Kabriah and Antonio, also known as Mage.

The family disclosed that Clark Kent courageously battled colon cancer for three years while still sharing his passion for hip hop around the world and requested prayers and privacy during this time of mourning.
Clark Kent commenced his journey in the music industry during the 1980s as DJ for rapper Dana Dane… before progressing to produce timeless hits for artists such as Jay-Z, Lil Kim, Foxy Brown, and even the legendary Notorious B.I.G.
He contributed to the production of Jay’s critically acclaimed debut album “Reasonable Doubt” and was recognized as a fashion guru within the hip hop community, particularly known for his sneaker style.
Clark was 57 years old, having just celebrated his last birthday last month.
