The late Chicago drill music icon King Von has been in the limelight considerably this year, four years following his passing — and Lil Durk has added to his friend’s legendary status through his latest track!
Recently, on Friday, Durk’s Chicago rap peer G Herbo released an updated version of his album, titled “Big Swerv 2.0” deluxe, featuring the track “In The Air” with a collaboration from Durk.
In the finale of his verse, Durk alludes to the impact King Von has made … “Goodbye, I’m leaving the ‘Raq, I’m a survivor Yeah, yeah, I transformed a serial killer into a rapper.”

As a reminder, filmmaker Trap Lore Ross faced backlash from a significant portion of Chicago after he released his documentary “King Von: Rap’s First Serial Killer” last year.
Ross conveyed to TMZ Hip Hop during that period that he admired Von and researched available information … including leaked documents from the Chicago Police Department that allege Von’s involvement in a murder post his passing.
Lil Durk appears to have recorded a substantial amount of music preceding his arrest for murder-for-hire on Thursday evening … he managed to promote his forthcoming album “Deep Thoughts” before being taken into custody by U.S. Marshals in Miami.
It seems it might take some time before Durk and Herbo have the chance to showcase their latest track live … Durk faces allegations of financing purported members of his Only The Family record label to execute an attack on Quando Rondo, who fatally took the life of his cousin instead.
At present, he is under federal detention.
