Madonna is fully aware of the “Strength of Farewell” as she recently paid her respects at the burial site of her deceased brother, Christopher Ciccone, following his passing earlier this month.
Madonna shared her heartfelt journey to her brother’s grave, situated in their native Michigan, by uploading several personal images to her Instagram Stories last Friday.
The Material Girl was accompanied by her daughter, Lourdes Leon, during this emotional pilgrimage to Christopher’s resting place, which she referred to as a “homecoming.”
Dressed entirely in black, both Madonna and Lourdes commemorated Christopher’s legacy… three weeks after his demise at the age of 63.
Madonna laid down several crimson roses at the gravesite, accompanied by Levon Henry who performed Duke Ellington’s composition, “Single Petal of a Rose” during their farewell tribute.

The chart-topping artist recently visited the resting place of her mother, who shares her name, reminiscing about cherished moments spent in Michigan.
As reported earlier by TMZ, Christopher passed away quietly, surrounded by his spouse, Ray, and family after a courageous fight against cancer.
Just days following his death, Madonna took to her social media to share a series of images featuring herself and Christopher, expressing that she remembers her brother with “love and appreciation.”

This unfortunate event followed another tragic incident for the Ciccone family, as Madonna’s stepmother, Joan Ciccone, passed away in September after her own fierce battle with cancer.
She was 81 years old.
