Jamie Foxx was rumored to have revealed details regarding Diddy being associated with his hospitalization last year — however, sources indicate that these claims are entirely unfounded.
Insiders have shared with TMZ that during the filming of his comedy special, “What Had Happened Was,” Jamie did mention the now-controversial figure while discussing his hospital experience in Atlanta — yet they emphasize it was purely in a humorous tone.
Sources confirm that Jamie certainly wasn’t being serious, in spite of certain reports suggesting he was “unveiling” the true narrative surrounding his mysterious health issue from April 2023.

Page Six originally reported inconsistent accounts from three separate witnesses who were present at the tapings in Atlanta’s Alliance Theatre earlier this month. Two attendees reportedly did not perceive Jamie’s remarks about Diddy as a joke, while a third claimed Foxx addressed the rumor directly, stating, “If [Diddy] was truly responsible, I’d be dead.”
Producer Choke No Joke conducted an interview earlier this month stating there was a circulating rumor within the industry that suggested Diddy was potentially involved in Foxx’s hospitalization. He mentioned that he attended several tapings for the special, where Jamie supposedly remarked that Diddy was to blame for his circumstances and that he had even alerted the FBI about Diddy.
No recordings were permitted inside the venue, leaving some ambiguity around the exact remarks made. It’s unclear whether that particular joke will even feature in the forthcoming special.
Jamie’s Netflix special is scheduled for release on January 17, 2025, and he has hinted that he will disclose the complete story of what really transpired during his medical episode.
