Renowned Hip Hop figure and music producer DJ Clark Kent passed away Thursday night following an extended battle with colon cancer, as confirmed by his family today.
As per the family’s announcement, the 58-year-old stalwart of NYC, originally known as Rodolfo A. Franklin, departed this world with his wife Kesha, daughter Kabriah, and son Antonio, also known as Mage, by his side.

The family shared that Clark Kent had been discreetly battling colon cancer for three years yet continued to share his passion for rap across the world. They requested thoughts and privacy as they mourn together.
Clark Kent kickstarted his journey in the 1980s as the touring DJ for rapper Dana Dane… eventually moving on to produce timeless tracks for icons like Jay-Z, Lil Kim, Foxy Brown, and even the legendary Notorious B.I.G..
He received production accolades for Jay’s critically acclaimed debut album, “Reasonable Doubt,” and was regarded as a fashion mogul in the hip hop scene, especially noted for his sneaker choices.
Clark was 57 years old when he celebrated his last birthday last month.
