Step back, Fergie… emerging artist Loomis has just joined the ranks of those who have utterly mishandled the National Anthem, and her performance is quite cringe-worthy, to put it mildly.
As evident, the vocalist begins passionately at the Free and Equal Elections Presidential Debate on Thursday… but swiftly goes off-tune, becoming flustered and pleading into the microphone, “I messed it up, I messed it up. Can I start over, can I start over please?”
As if that weren’t sufficient, a cameraman interjects to inform her that she’s broadcasting live — and she’s taken aback, attempting to persist… but her faltering voice only worsens.
She’s unmistakably distressed, confessing mid-performance, “I got way too anxious!”
Meanwhile, those behind her are doing their utmost to keep a neutral expression, giving a sympathetic applause when she finally concludes.
Unfortunately, she didn’t receive the same understanding treatment on the internet, enduring a torrent of criticism and mockery on social platforms.
The occasion was dedicated to third-party presidential hopefuls, including Jill Stein of the Green Party… Chase Oliver of the Libertarian Party… and Randall Terry of the Constitution Party.
So until the next audacious individual mismanages the National Anthem, it appears this will be her moment in the spotlight for some time!
