Lil Durk was allegedly making arrangements to escape the nation aboard a private jet prior to being apprehended on charges related to a murder-for-hire scheme in Miami, as indicated by prosecution documents divulged on Friday (Oct. 25).
“Durk reserved two flights from airports in South Florida — one destined for Dubai and another for Switzerland. Subsequently, he arranged a private flight to Italy but was taken into custody in Miami just before he could board,” stated FBI agent Sarah Corcoran in a report, as noted by AP News.
The artist known for “All My Life,” whose birth name is Durk Banks, was apprehended by U.S. Marshals in Broward County on Thursday (Oct. 24), just shortly after his Only The Family associates were indicted. Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston all face charges of conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire and murder-for-hire related to their alleged plan to eliminate Quando Rondo in 2022.
The event, which occurred in Los Angeles, resulted in the death of Rondo’s cousin Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson. Authorities suspect this was revenge for King Von’s death, who was shot in Atlanta following a confrontation with the “ABG” rapper.
Reports suggest that Grant traveled to Los Angeles via a private jet, where he secured accommodation for the other four suspects, along with ski masks and two high-end vehicles. It is claimed that he supplied Jones, Lindsay, and one unidentified individual with firearms, one of which was modified into an automatic weapon.
“The shooting took place in broad daylight, at a gas station located at a bustling intersection, putting many bystanders at risk,” remarked U.S. attorney for Los Angeles Martin Estrada. “Acts of violent gun crime like this are tragic for our community, and we will maintain a zero-tolerance policy for those engaging in such ruthless acts of violence.”
Durk’s Deep Thoughts was set to launch on Nov. 22, along with several pre-released singles including “Turn Up A Notch,” “Monitoring Me,” “Late Checkout” featuring Hunxho, and “Opportunist.”
