The 2024 college basketball season is on the brink of commencing … and Dan Hurley shares with TMZ Sports that his UConn program is exuding a “remarkably high level” of assurance as they gear up for a potential three-peat!!
The 51-year-old head coach was meeting fans in New York City … just weeks ahead of the Huskies’ inaugural regular season clash on November 6 in Storrs, Connecticut.
All attention is focused on the consecutive NCAA champions heading into the 2024-25 season … and Hurley — who opted to stay with UConn rather than take a position with the Los Angeles Lakers — noted that their recent achievements have boosted the squad’s confidence, which will be essential as they endeavor to defend their title once more.
“I feel like we’re even more motivated to maintain the program’s success, you know, but now we possess a remarkably high level of assurance,” Hurley stated.
“Thus, our urgency is stronger than ever, yet our confidence has soared.”
Indeed, Hurley likened their quest for a three-peat to the necessity of breathing … that’s how fervently they desire it.
If achieved, the Huskies would make history as the first college basketball team to accomplish this feat since the legendary John Wooden-led UCLA teams from the ’60s and early ’70s.
Undoubtedly … Hurley has faith that the Huskies can achieve just that.
