Tyler, The Creator appears to be embarking on a new chapter in his musical journey. On Wednesday (Oct. 16), the hip-hop artist released a preview entitled “ST. CHROMA.” The striking black-and-white visualizer presents him escorting a squad of individuals into a container marked “CHROMAKOPIA.”

Just as the video reaches its conclusion, a hand triggers an explosion inside the container, engulfing everyone still within it. Ironically, this explosive moment coincides with the shift to vibrant colors in the video. It’s speculated that “CHROMAKOPIA” could be the title of Tyler’s forthcoming eighth studio album, as hinted in the video’s YouTube description reading: “8.”

“Calm down, remain still, that’s one mill’ for each desire / Top ten, big deal, how the hell he manage that? / What the hell do I resemble? Get the hell up outta your space / I’m doing this where I hail from, on the globe where them reside,” the California artist delivers in his sole verse. “15 stacks for that fresh Ford, I’ve had dough since age 19 / I emerged like cha-ching, I believe I’m a godd**n addict.”

Daniel Caesar provided the outro and later signaled in an Instagram Story that there’s more exciting news ahead. “Contributed some vocals on this. Extremely proud. Can’t wait for everyone to hear the entire record,” he shared.

Tyler’s latest album, released in 2021, CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST, secured the Grammy for Best Rap Album at the 64th GRAMMY Awards. The 16-track project featured hits like “WUSYANAME” with YoungBoy Never Broke Again and Ty Dolla Sign, along with the Brent Faiyaz collaboration “SWEET / I THOUGHT YOU WANTED TO DANCE,” among others.

“Every lyric. I didn’t embellish a thing. Everything here is genuine and truly my existence. [This is] honestly my most intimate album, so it’s amazing that people are receptive to it,” the artist and designer expressed on Twitter during that time.

Beyond his musical pursuits, Tyler and Converse introduced the Darryl Chuck 70 in ten unique color variations back in September.
