Tyla took the stage at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on the evening of Tuesday (Oct. 15) in New York City.
The acclaimed Grammy-winning vocalist graced the performance area with her favorite icons, Jasmine Tookes and her fellow South African, Candice Swanepoel, delivering live performances of “Water” and “PUSH 2 START.” This event marked her inaugural live performance of the latter track since it was added to TYLA+ earlier this month.
“We designed something that would resonate with the show, something I would enjoy performing. It’s very glamorous, quite distinct from what I typically experience,” Tyla expressed to Harper’s Bazaar about her outfit, which featured a coordinating lingerie set, a garter belt, and the signature angel wings of the lingerie brand. “But I genuinely love it. It’s a fresh take and really enhances my style.”
Also gracing the stage were musical luminaries such as Cher and BLACKPINK’s Lisa. Meanwhile, Gigi Hadid, Tyra Banks, and Paloma Elsesser strutted down the runway for this annual spectacle — the brand’s return since 2018.
“As a child, I was enchanted by the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show — the breathtaking garments, iconic wings, and magnetic models,” Tyla revealed to Rolling Stone prior to her performance. “Now, I am excited to perform on this nostalgic and legendary platform. What enhances the excitement is the celebration of diversity, presenting a wider spectrum of beauty, making this moment truly significant.”
Alongside “PUSH 2 START,” TYLA+ also features tracks like “BACK to YOU” and “SHAKE AH” with Tony Duardo, Optimist Music ZA, and Ez Maestro. The original album peaked at No. 24 on the Billboard 200 chart and included fan favorites such as “On and On,” “Truth or Dare,” and “ART.” Collaborations featured artists like Travis Scott, Tems, Gunna, Skillibeng, and Becky G, among others.
