The Power franchise and its vast universe have proven to be immensely successful for 50 Cent and Starz.
However, 50 Cent’s compensation hasn’t always mirrored that success.
In a conversation with Steve Stoute at UnitedMasters’ SelectConNYC, Fif discussed his meager earnings during the show’s initial season.
“For my role in the Power series, I was earning just $17,000 as an executive producer, a recurring character, and essentially a music supervisor—alongside creating the show’s theme song,” shared 50 Cent. “That was $17,000 each episode—I earn more for just showing up at a nightclub and waving. My goal was for them to embrace the idea that we needed to nurture this project into existence,” he remarked. “I aimed to develop the show. No one in our community has successfully created and produced something like this for television.”
This means that 50 Cent made a total of only $136,000 for the entire first season of Power.
He didn’t disclose when he might have received a pay increase (though we suspect it happened eventually) or what his current earnings are nearly ten years later.
