The individual who is alleged to have fatally attacked three young girls gathering to dance to Taylor Swift music this summer is now facing two additional criminal allegations, which include a charge related to terrorism.
Authorities in England report that the 18-year-old accused, Axel Rudakubana, is being charged with the creation of the lethal poison ricin and possession of an Al-Qaeda training manual for jihad.
Law enforcement discovered ricin and the Al-Qaeda manual during searches of Rudakubana’s residence following the stabbings in Southport this July. Ricin, derived from the castor bean plant, is recognized as one of the most dangerous toxins globally.
While the recent allegations pertain to terror, law enforcement has indicated that the investigation has not yet been formally classified as terrorism. This is due to the necessity of establishing a clear motive.
Rudakubana, who authorities state was born in England, is slated for a court appearance on Wednesday … and he has already been charged with murder, attempted murder, and possession of a knife.
As previously mentioned, Rudakubana faces allegations of fatally stabbing three children, aged 6, 7, and 9, on July 29 at a Taylor Swift-themed dance workshop in the UK. Authorities stated that ricin was not present at the site of the tragic event.
In an Instagram message after the shocking incident, Taylor expressed to her followers that she was “utterly shocked”… “These were simply young children at a dance class. I am at a total loss for how to express my condolences to these families.”
Rudakubana’s trial is scheduled to commence in January.
