Sam Pounds, who worked alongside Liam Payne on the artist’s concluding single, has chosen to withhold the release of the song … just days after sharing his intentions to do so.
The artist, who has a reputation for crafting music for Jamie Foxx and Wiz Khalifa, revealed his updated plans on X concerning the unreleased track, named “Do No Wrong” … expressing a desire for the family of the late One Direction member to determine the timing and manner of its release.
He stated … “Today I’ve decided to pause ‘Do No Wrong’ and leave those decisions to all family members, as I want any earnings to be directed toward a charity of their choice (or however they wish).”
Sam emphasized that his choice does not undermine his view of the song, mentioning that he and others who have listened to it “all appreciate the song.”
He added … “It’s not the right moment yet. We are all still grieving the loss of Liam, and I want the family to [grieve] peacefully and with reflection. We will all wait.”
Previously, Sam had circulated presave links for the upcoming single he intended to launch on Friday.
At that moment, he expressed his desire for this musical unveiling to “serve as a gift to the world” … indicating that LP would have wished for the track to reach listeners. Nevertheless, Sam appeared to regret his announcement … subsequently removing his messages about the song.
During his tenure with One Direction, Liam and his fellow members launched five chart-topping albums … among them “Up All Night,” “Take Me Home,” “Midnight Memories,” “Four,” and “Made in the A.M.”
In his solo career, Liam unveiled his debut album, “LP1,” in 2019 … which included his hit “Strip That Down.”
Liam’s last television endeavor, a singing contest series for Netflix called “Building the Band,” is currently suspended, as well … with insiders revealing to TMZ that the producers were “stunned and saddened” by the reports of the singer’s tragic fall from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina, earlier this month.
Liam is mourned by his parents, Geoff and Karen, his two elder sisters, Ruth and Nicola, as well as his 7-year-old son, Bear.
