Sam Pounds, who worked alongside Liam Payne on the artist’s latest single, has opted against releasing the track … just days after initially revealing his intentions.
The artist, renowned for crafting hits for Jamie Foxx and Wiz Khalifa, shared on X an update regarding the unreleased track, titled “Do No Wrong” … expressing that he wishes for the late One Direction member’s family to decide when or if the song should be made public.
He noted … “Today I’m choosing to withhold ‘Do No Wrong’ and leave those decisions to all family members. I wish for all profits to be directed to a charity of their choice (or however they see fit).”
Sam emphasized that his choice was not a reflection of how he feels about the track, stating that he and others who have heard it “all appreciate the song.”
He elaborated … “It’s not the right moment yet. We are all still grieving the loss of Liam and I want the family to [mourn] in peace and with prayer. We will all wait.”
Previously, Sam had shared presave links for the single, which he intended to release on Friday.
At that point, he expressed his hopes that this musical release would “bring joy to the world” … asserting that LP would have wished for the public to hear the song. However, Sam appeared to have second thoughts about his announcement … ultimately removing his posts regarding the track.
During his tenure with One Direction, Liam along with his fellow band members churned out five immensely successful albums … namely “Up All Night,” “Take Me Home,” “Midnight Memories,” “Four,” and “Made in the A.M.”
As an independent artist, Liam unveiled his debut album, “LP1,” back in 2019 … which included his hit single “Strip That Down.”
Liam’s latest television endeavor, a musical competition series for Netflix entitled “Building the Band,” is currently on hold, with insider reports indicating that producers were “shocked and disheartened” by the tragic news of the singer’s fall from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina earlier this month.
Liam is mourned by his mother and father, Geoff and Karen, his two elder sisters, Ruth and Nicola, as well as his 7-year-old son, Bear.
