ASAP Rocky and Rihanna remain one of the select power duos in the music scene. On Tuesday (October 8), he adorned the cover of W Magazine, captured by none other than the mother of his two children.
In his conversation with the magazine, the artist behind “F**kin’ Problems” disclosed the moment he recognized they would form the ideal family. “I realized it when we were younger. I believe we both did. It just felt natural as we matured. We sort of reconnected,” he elaborated regarding their bond around 2019 or 2020.
Rocky and Rihanna acknowledged they were in a relationship in 2020 after being seen together on multiple occasions. They strolled hand-in-hand at the British Fashion Awards in 2019 and collaborated on the debut campaign for Fenty Skin the following year.
Later during the discussion, Rocky reflected on which of his sons bears the closest resemblance to him. “I think RZA will probably be the more reserved one. He’s definitely an introvert,” he stated. “Riot is the social butterfly — just like his mom. RZA takes after me, he’s my mini-me. He has his mother’s forehead, but otherwise, he’s all me.”
On the subject of their initial interaction, Rocky recounted, “I got thrown out of this nightclub. They [weren’t] letting me in. At the time, I was still getting my name out there, so I wasn’t widely recognized. I was with Matthew Williams and Virgil [Abloh]. I had a confrontation with the bouncers when she came out. Our eyes met. She didn’t know us, but she exclaimed, ‘Why aren’t you allowing him entry? What’s up with that?! Let that guy in!’”
In terms of music, Rocky and Rihanna released a remix of “Cockiness (Love It)” in 2012, which was followed by his role as a supporting artist on the “Diamonds World Tour.” They also portrayed romantic interests in the music video for the Harlem native’s “Fashion Killa.”
