Renowned luxury designer Don C is celebrated for his impressive Just Don line, a cornerstone in both the fashion and Hip Hop arenas. In a recent episode of the “Ghetto Runways” podcast, he divulged an untold narrative regarding the initial meetings of his acquaintances and fellow cultural icons Virgil Abloh and the artist formerly recognized as Kanye West.

John Monopoly, recognized by many as West’s current manager, has played a crucial role in the rise of some of today’s most impactful cultural personalities. During the discussion, Don C recounted, “John introduced me, introduced Ye, and introduced Virgil. He took it upon himself to connect me with Ye and Virgil… When I was around 14 or 15 years old, John Monopoly said, ‘Man, I have a cousin who really digs fashion; if he adds something to what you’re doing, Ye, you’ll reach a new height.’”

One admirer remarked, “John deserves recognition; without him, we might never have witnessed the brilliance of this group.” Another shared, “He has always been a visionary… keep pushing boundaries Big John… portals are opening.”

Monopoly may not seek the limelight for his achievements, yet the fact that he facilitated connections among trailblazers like Don C, Ye, Abloh, and Ibn Jasper is remarkable. Don C also recounted the story behind the notorious image of the ensemble, which was satirized in a popular episode of Comedy Central’s South Park.

This creative collective played a pivotal role in establishing iconic brands such as Fear of God, Off-White, Yeezy, Just Don, and many others that have significantly influenced youth culture’s fashion landscape since Ye’s rise in the music industry.

Earlier this year, Monopoly gained attention online after he reached out to Kai Cenat to address concerns related to Ye, following Cenat’s feedback on the clothing he had sent him. The dialogue initially became heated but eventually settled down as they managed to discuss their perspectives.
